And don’t say, “Because your morals disgust me.” That’s an ignorant response and the only one people seem to be able to come up with. There is absolutely zero logic in one person telling another person, “I’m going to force my morals on you because I don’t like your morals.” This has been the back and forth in big government and it’s the reason that no one wants to vote anymore. Who wants to participate when the only options are “evil” or “slightly less evil”? I’m just going to say this: if I had to choose between saving thousands of lives through government-provided welfare, and a handful of whiny middle/upper class clowns who don’t like being bossed around for doing something that they would allegedly do anyway (like charity), because they feel that their “morals” aren’t respected, take a wild fucking guess at what I’d choose. The problem is that the people with all the money like having all the money. The joy they get from greed overpowers any joy they would get from helping people. That’s why we need the government to tax the super-rich more, because there is a very small minority of those rich people, such as Bill Gates, that actually have that kind of compassion. Someone want to tell me why we think this fatass’ opinion even matters? Because it’s fucking stupid. Mostly because there’s very few people who would help the unfortunate by choice. So that logic is a fallacy in the biggest sense. As a society, we are duty-bound to help each other.
